A government is the system by which a state or community is governed.

Forms of Government Power Source[]

Collective[]

A collective is a system of governance where individualism is non-existent or limited due to the atypical levels of sapience and free will held by its members, and decisions are made by an overseeing entity such as an artificial intelligence.

Corporatocracy[]

A corporatocracy is a political system controlled by corporations and/or corporate interests.

Democracy[]

Democracy is a system of government in which all the people of a state or polity are involved in making decisions about its affairs, typically by voting to elect representatives to a parliament or similar assembly.

Monarchy[]

A monarchy is a form of government in which sovereignty is actually or nominally embodied in one or several individual(s) reigning until death or abdication. They are called the monarchs.

Oligarchy[]

Oligarchy is a form of governmental power structure in which power effectively rests with a small number of people. These people could be distinguished by royalty, wealth, family ties, education, corporate, religious or military control. Such states are often controlled by a few prominent families who typically pass their influence from one generation to the next, but inheritance is not a necessary condition for the application of this term.

Republic[]

A republic is a form of government in which power resides in elected individuals representing the citizen body and government leaders exercise power according to the rule of law. Similar to democracies, a republic recognizes the inalienable rights of individuals while democracies are only concerned with group wants or needs.
